Who can display an organic label, and what are the rules that apply?
100% organic. Per the USDA standard, products carrying a "100% organic" label may contain only organically produced ingredients.
Organic. To be labeled "organic", 95% of the ingredients must be organically grown, and the remaining ones must come from non-organic ingredients that have been approved on the National List. These products can also display the USDA organic logo and/or the certifier's logo.
Made With Organic Ingredients. Must be made with at least 70% organic ingredients, three of which must be listed on the package. The remaining 30% of non-organic ingredients must be approved on the National List. These products may display the certifier's logo but not the USDA organic logo.
Now here's the real kicker... The rules differ for body care products. But in general, where body care products are concerned, if you do not see the USDA Certified Organic seal , the word "organic" doesn't mean a thing! It must specify USDA to be meaningful.
The ingredients in the product are the important thing.

Arizona's Right to Hunt and Fish Constitutional Amendment needs your support. HCR 2008 was recently introduced in an effort to guarantee the future of hunting for generations to come. This measure is currently awaiting a committee hearing and, if passed and ultimately approved by the voters, would make Arizona one of nearly a dozen states with such a constitutional protection.
Although it has been an activity conducted by humans since the beginning of time, hunting has been targeted for extinction by the well-funded animal "rights" extremists at the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). They spend $120 million a year lobbying and litigating against hunting and science-based wildlife management. Wayne Pacelle, the group's CEO, told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, "Our goal is to get sport hunting in the same category as cock fighting and dog fighting. Our opponents say hunting is a tradition. We say traditions can change." Whether sportsmen want to believe it or not, the threat is real and NRA is laying the groundwork of our defense against future attacks with meaningful constitutional amendments such as HCR 2008.
Hunters are America's true conservationists. No other group contributes more in order to preserve and reestablish wildlife populations and their habitats. It is time that hunting receives the highest form of protection available and that is what is provided in HCR 2008. The emotional cries of the animal "rights" extremists cannot be allowed to dictate the future of Arizona's wildlife policies.
It is critical that you contact your State Representative and respectfully urge him or her to support this important constitutional amendment.
